Winter Nature

I can't believe I actually got two "alright" pictures from the eight pictures I took this weekend. We were in Minnesota all weekend and didn't get back until 8 p.m. sunday night. When we were about 5 miles out of town when we were leaving I decided I should have brought my camera but I knew we werent going to be turning back to get that. So I didn't have much time (this morning) when I took my pictures but I got a few.. or eight.

Weekend pictures.

Simple but interesting to me! Maybe could be a little more of something in the picture.. like a LEAF!

I'm not quite sure what this is.. I think I have an idea but it was just some dead plant by our house.
What a weekend! Let's see, friday I slept over at Jenna and Dylan's. I didn't bring my camera cause I have an overload of "Karli and Alexa" pictures.. even though I could have took 7246522353 more. Saturday Karli, I guess, woke up at 7 or so and asked when I was going to wake up. Jenna told her she could wake me up at 8:30.. and of course she did. I guess it wasn't that early but I definitely could have slept in a bit longer. Sunday was my chance to sleep in though.. So after waking up late I cleaned my room and then I was bored. I got my camera and went out to look for some pictures since I haven't taken many lately. Here's a few of the things I found. Then while editing the outdoor ones my cat was sitting so perfectly in the sunlight right outside of my room so I took some pictures of him too. Not too shabby this time around!

multi-view collage

Hard to tell what is here! I took a dead leaf from outside and brought it in. The snow and ice melted and formed little droplets on the leaf. I snapped a few pictures and put them onto my laptop. I made a collage of the pictures. I then turned the color of the leaf to purple and made the water drops stand out more. The picture was too boring for me so I used the kaleidoscope effect to make it look almost like a flower. Looks much better like this than before.. even though you would not be able to tell what the subject was.

Treeees. Take Two.

As usual, I have been in a rush to get things done. Between everything that I need to get done I find time to take some pictures. I finally decided that it was time to get these pictures done and really, it was. Although time didn't allow me to go out to a place where I would have found better pictures, I made what I had into something interesting the best I could. What I like about this one is how the tree starts and a point and blooms into something huge. I don't know what to think of the house in the background. It almost confuses me in some way.

Rural Life

Tonight I finally found the time to upload a few pictures for these assignments! After visiting my cousin in the hospital and skipping skating and ccd I thought I could use the "skipped" time to get these up! So here are a few rural life pictures. I don't think they are the best at showing rural life but they'll have to do!

Tree!

Bonus points?!?! (:  This picture I took last weekend while at my aunts taking pictures for the Rural Life assignment. I wasn't going to upload it until I was told I would get bonus points! Its an alright picture but I definitely think I could find something better. So I think I will.. but for now... this is my tree photo!

Everyone knows the common saying Got Milk?.... thats the idea here but instead water. My first idea was to do something with eating fruit..but.. that didn't work out so after about 1.5 hours of editing this picture I got this. It doesn't seem like this could possibly take that long but A LOT had to be done to make it look like it is. I started with a few lamps and took off the lamp shade. Then I put some tin foil on one side to reflect more light into the light box. There was one on each side (left and right) and one through a hole on the top of the box.. and then I snapped away!

I think its story time!

This is my bike, of course, it gets me EVERYWHERE in the summer! For this bike ride I went just a mile or two to get some pictures of the sunset. I arrived at the spot I wanted to take these pictures but I got there a little too early so I took some pictures of my bike!
This reminds me of my grandparents and their ...puzzles, puzzles, puzzles. Everytime we go to my grandma and grandpa's, just 15 minutes out of town, my grandma always has a puzzle done. I took this picture a long time ago but I thought it would be a nice one to put up seeing that my grandpa is at the end-stage of cancer and only a few more months with us.
This was a picture from our first photo assignment for our photography class. I remember taking the girls (karli and alexa) for a walk through the arboretum so I could get some of these pictures. It was a nice day, lots of mosquitoes though. There wasn't many flowers out still but I found some of these and thought they would fit the "nature theme"
The picture above and below are from the 2010 flood! It was the first flood that I remember. My aunt bonnie had told me before that about 20 years ago there was big flood and it flooded up to her garden down by the river. This meant the river had to be about 20 feet up cause the banks were very steep. I didn't believe her... until this day! When we got let out of school we went to her house and yep, up to the pine trees and garden. It was unbelievable. Her dock, which is normally a good 15-20 feet about the surface of the river, was floating in the water. Good thing my cousins tied it down so it wouldn't float away!

The reason I took this picture was simply because.. Mr. M said someone took a picture of their lawn once for a photo assigment. How boring! Well the dew on the grass looked interesting so I said lets take a picture of the lawn but make it look nice! Its nothing much but it could have been done better!
This one was from last spring. A friend and I went to Wild Cat Md. and I brought my camera along. We  decided to stay for the sunset. So the sun.. set... but there wasn't much to it. The horizon was flat and there were no clouds in the sky so not to interesting. When we were walking back to go home I was looking at the colors in the sky and noticed the silhouette of the pine trees and though it would be a good picture.. I guess it was!

Andy Warhol Assignment

In this assignment we had to make a picture similar to Andy Warhol's work. We put these pictures into photoshop and made each picture a different color, plus a few more steps in between the first picture and changing the color.

My pictures are back!

My computer is finally back! 3 or 4 months later! I was so excited and I think I should share some of the excitement by posting some of my old pictures that were "lost" with my computer for months.  I was beginning to think I'd never see these pictures again since the company kept calling and saying they were not going to fix my computer. But its fixed and back now so I am set!

Figure Skater!

Yes, I am a figure skater! These are just pictures I took while skating down at the Neillsville Rink. Typically I skate at Black River Falls FSC but it's harder to get pictures there. I'll be competing at Badger State Games in less than a month, then Black River Falls Competition a few weeks later, then Eau Claire Competition in March or so!

Portrait Grid

For this project, Mr. M took our picture and then we had to upload it into photoshop. Next we put a grid on the photo, selected a single square at a time, and applied a filter to it or changed the color. Here's the end results!

A day with the Cousins

Bri

 Brianna

 Hallie
These two pictures of my cousins and sister snowmobiling are the only two that turned out.. I think I took about 80 pictures like this that were blurry or to far away. The ISO was so high on these that there was a ton of noise and I had to 'reduce the noise' in iPhoto which took away from the details of the people in the picture but, I guess they are alright!

Christmas Break: Babysitting

This picture of Alexa is a little blurry but she looks just like her sister Karli when she was little and I like it!
