Olivia and Kyle

Saturday was a fun-filled day with Olivia and Kyle. We baked cookies, painted, played outside, painted nails, played with playdough and lots more. Liv kept asking, "can mom stay with Lauren all day?" She must have been having fun if she didn't want her mom to come home yet!

Olivia found caterpillars in the grass everywhere! ... she also had to through them somewhere else so she wouldn't step on them.

Windy day outside but it was still very nice out!

Really wasn't the weather for a hat and jacket but it was windy and we don't want any sick kids.

Pig's 1st Birthday!!!

On March 9th, it was my aunt's and Pig's birthday. Pig turned 1 this year so I made him a birthday cake and my aunt put a birthday hat on him. I'm almost positive he didn't like the hat which may be why I found it buried under hay while cleaning the pen a few days later. He got a piece of the cake, but I must say, it was gone in 1 bite. There's no such thing as savor the flavor with a pig.

 Happy Pig!

Early Spring

It's only the beginning of March and we have spring maybe even summer like temperatures. The little snow we had is gone and the creeks and river are flowing again. Pretty soon I will be able to get the fishing pole out again. Kayaks will be in the river once again soon. But living in WI we always have to be on the look out for another snow storm to hit, even though everything is melted. But it looks like we'll be safe for a while yet!

Depth of Field

The assignment was to show different depths of field, or how much of the picture is in focus. I don't have any good examples of large depth of field, yet, but here are a few examples of shallow depth of field. And instead of taking my pictures in the same location as always, I decided to try taking pictures inside.
This is a picture of a ribbon I have on my board in my room. The shallow depth of field makes it so that only the first few ribbons are in focus, then the ones in the back are blurred out.

Spring is literally a day away! Predicted temperature for tomorrow: 51 degrees, depending on which weather station you follow. With temperatures like this the ice will melt in no time, the icebergs will go floating on the river, the snow will melt and I can go fishing! I have a hat dedicated to fishing. It's full of lures and little ornament things like this on it and not to mention the fishing pole hanging next to the hat. I cannot wait to get out to fish!

My mom got this necklace for me from the hospital I was at throughout the month of September. I think it was St Mary's Hospital part of Mayo Clinic in Rochester. It ended up being a christmas present this past year.
