A few favorites

Most of the time when you see pictures similar to these, the trees are almost always palm trees, or something tropical. This is a favorite because it shows something about wisconsin and silhouette is very sharp.  If I did something different or took the time to change this picture, I would probably take a little bit of the black off of the bottom. But then again, it kind of adds a different feeling to the picture, not sure what though. Oh and I took this at Wild Cat Mound.
Last year while cleaning up my grandma's yard after a lot of leaves had fallen off, I decided to take a break and go take some pictures. I found this leave on a small tree that was still green. I held it up to the sun and after taking the picture, this is how it turned out. I love all of details of the leaf that we can see in this picture. I take hundred and hundreds of leaf pictures all the time but there isn't one that I like better than this. There are a few that came close, but never passed it.
This one is from Easter. I love food which instantly makes this picture great, but I like the circles in the picture and that on the other side of each circle there is something different. I tried making the wooden table just into a black background but it looked better with the table in the picture. I would say that is because there is a shade of brown in the bagels. and now I am hungry so I think we should move on to the next picture.

I took this picture around the end of October of 2010. It was taken at an old house next to my aunts house. I like this picture because of the lighting and how "perfect" the mess is. Even though most people would consider this a disaster! It would definitely not be as good of a picture if that drawer was closed. I also like the tiny bit of color on the cabinet door.
This picture I took last fall at my grandma's house. I like this picture a lot mostly because of the colors in it. The colors are very defined in the picture, very bold. I think this picture could be better or more interesting if it was at a different angle since most tree pictures are shot straight up.
I took this picture a while back when I was babysitting Emerson. I like that her eyes are very sharp and in focus and there is no distractions in the picture. Her hair frames her face almost perfectly which helps make a better picture. I don't think there is anything I would change about this picture.
This was another one I took while babysitting her and within minutes of the one above. I think my favorite part about this picture is that she is smiling. She usually is always smiling... like this. I like the light in this picture too. Good contrast but not too dark in spots that could be.
This is from the cabin last September. This frog was so small which is why I like this picture a lot. I think this would qualify for macro photography. The picture is in focus right where it should be and the background is not distracting by being completely blurred.
I don't remember when I took this one exactly. I just remember my cat Sunny sitting outside of my bedroom in the sunlight. I like the intense light in this picture with the black background. It makes the cat look.. fierce! I can't think of anything I would change since it is not often that my cat will sit still enough to take even one picture.
Baby Keagan was only about four day old here. I had babysat for his brother and sister before and his mom had asked me to come take some pictures when they got home. So I walked to their house one weekend and took this picture and the one below. I like that he is looking into the camera and his little hands are in the picture too.
He didn't really like getting his picture taken. I think he was getting cold! but once he got calmed down, he sat there for a while and let me get some pictures. I like softness of this picture. The light is pretty soft and the blankets along with his skin make it look even softer.

This is one of my favorite pictures of Karli. Of all the pictures I have ever taken of her, this one is within the top three. The blurred background adds to this picture a ton. Her hair blowing behind her makes her look like a little supermodel! This was from a day I was visiting them and Karli and I went outside to blow bubbles and she was had to show me her "gator". In the back of her gator, there was a feather. And of course when you are three, a feather can be the coolest thing ever. So she was bringing it over to show me and I took a picture at the perfect time, smiles, blowing hair, she even has a little bit of a model walk going on! Love it!

And once I get back home, I can upload some of my new favorites since all of my pictures disappeared from my memory card. Good thing I have them saved at home!
