I had to take pictures for the newspaper at last nights regional softball game against Edgar. We won 11-0 and I had a lot of fun taking pictures! These are just a few of them that I took, I think I ended up with 300+ pictures. Look for them in next weeks newspaper!

A few favorites
Most of the time when you see pictures similar to these, the trees are almost always palm trees, or something tropical. This is a favorite because it shows something about wisconsin and silhouette is very sharp. If I did something different or took the time to change this picture, I would probably take a little bit of the black off of the bottom. But then again, it kind of adds a different feeling to the picture, not sure what though. Oh and I took this at Wild Cat Mound.
Last year while cleaning up my grandma's yard after a lot of leaves had fallen off, I decided to take a break and go take some pictures. I found this leave on a small tree that was still green. I held it up to the sun and after taking the picture, this is how it turned out. I love all of details of the leaf that we can see in this picture. I take hundred and hundreds of leaf pictures all the time but there isn't one that I like better than this. There are a few that came close, but never passed it.
I took this picture around the end of October of 2010. It was taken at an old house next to my aunts house. I like this picture because of the lighting and how "perfect" the mess is. Even though most people would consider this a disaster! It would definitely not be as good of a picture if that drawer was closed. I also like the tiny bit of color on the cabinet door.
This picture I took last fall at my grandma's house. I like this picture a lot mostly because of the colors in it. The colors are very defined in the picture, very bold. I think this picture could be better or more interesting if it was at a different angle since most tree pictures are shot straight up.
I took this picture a while back when I was babysitting Emerson. I like that her eyes are very sharp and in focus and there is no distractions in the picture. Her hair frames her face almost perfectly which helps make a better picture. I don't think there is anything I would change about this picture.
This was another one I took while babysitting her and within minutes of the one above. I think my favorite part about this picture is that she is smiling. She usually is always smiling... like this. I like the light in this picture too. Good contrast but not too dark in spots that could be.
This is from the cabin last September. This frog was so small which is why I like this picture a lot. I think this would qualify for macro photography. The picture is in focus right where it should be and the background is not distracting by being completely blurred.
I don't remember when I took this one exactly. I just remember my cat Sunny sitting outside of my bedroom in the sunlight. I like the intense light in this picture with the black background. It makes the cat look.. fierce! I can't think of anything I would change since it is not often that my cat will sit still enough to take even one picture.
Baby Keagan was only about four day old here. I had babysat for his brother and sister before and his mom had asked me to come take some pictures when they got home. So I walked to their house one weekend and took this picture and the one below. I like that he is looking into the camera and his little hands are in the picture too.
This is one of my favorite pictures of Karli. Of all the pictures I have ever taken of her, this one is within the top three. The blurred background adds to this picture a ton. Her hair blowing behind her makes her look like a little supermodel! This was from a day I was visiting them and Karli and I went outside to blow bubbles and she was had to show me her "gator". In the back of her gator, there was a feather. And of course when you are three, a feather can be the coolest thing ever. So she was bringing it over to show me and I took a picture at the perfect time, smiles, blowing hair, she even has a little bit of a model walk going on! Love it!
And once I get back home, I can upload some of my new favorites since all of my pictures disappeared from my memory card. Good thing I have them saved at home!

This one is from Easter. I love food which instantly makes this picture great, but I like the circles in the picture and that on the other side of each circle there is something different. I tried making the wooden table just into a black background but it looked better with the table in the picture. I would say that is because there is a shade of brown in the bagels. and now I am hungry so I think we should move on to the next picture.

He didn't really like getting his picture taken. I think he was getting cold! but once he got calmed down, he sat there for a while and let me get some pictures. I like softness of this picture. The light is pretty soft and the blankets along with his skin make it look even softer.

rainy day
I took this on Saturday when it was rainy, hailing and there were a few tornadoes in the area. Here, it only rained and hailed for a little while and then the sun came out. I was out trying to get pictures of the rain behind some of these flowers but it was way to difficult. Once the sun came out I got quite a few pictures that I like.

derivative
Here is mine...
This is my third time attempting this assignment. My first two did not work at all. This one turned out the best out of them, although it is not wonderful. I was looking at totally different pictures when I found an entire gallery of weird, confusing and photoshopped pictures. This was the first one I saw so I decided to do this one. After getting the pictures of it I looked through the entire gallery and found some that probably would have worked out better but I had no ambition to re-do this assignment.
...and here is the one I was trying to copy.
No. 100!
Whoa. I never would have thought that after almost exactly one school year I would have exactly 100 posts! I knew there would be a lot since I have so many pictures but I guess I never really figured what "a lot" would be. I had to do something different for the 100th post and it is quite obvious. I have had assignments to post and new pictures but I couldn't post those until I got the 100th one done. and FINALLY its done!

Water!
This has got to be one of my favorite things to take pictures of! I guess its just a lot of fun to try to get the right light, press the shutter at the right time and see what turns out! I think splashing water or any frozen motion pictures are always fun to look at and are interesting because we don't see things like this normally. Friday night I was supposed to take pictures for the newspaper but there was a mix up of dates so I ended up going to Tuft's Mansion with a friend and took these pictures. I broke one of the biggest photography rules ever while taking these pictures. Using the flash. oops. But I had to in order to have a fast enough shutter speed and enough light.

Rural Life
This weekend a friend and I attempted to kayak. It all went well until we got to the boat landing and had to get out in a creek cause there were people fishing. I stepped out of the kayak and my foot sunk into the mud about 1 foot deep. My flip flop was stuck so i just took my foot out and had to dig for my flip flop. Then my arm was covered in mud. My cousin picked us up from the boat landing in my aunts JUST cleaned car. So I pretty much had to hang out the window all the way back.
